Sharing Our Dream

Education is the most powerful instrument for changing lives. Currently, in South Africa, we are faced with great educational challenges. The vast experience of Hough & Horne in providing functional literacy resources and training, combined with Kaleidoscope’s adult learning focus and NQF accreditation, provide the ideal platform for solutions in education practice.

Kaleidoprax provides a combination of resources, relevant training and supportive relationships to equip the practitioner with relevant skills and resources in a demand-driven environment.

Vision

The Kaleidoprax Institute aims to equip and empower Education, Training and Development Practitioners with relevant skills and resources to effect the successful transfer of learning in a demand-driven education and training environment.

Mission

The Institute supplies a variety of resources in combination with workshops and training interventions to support and encourage successful learning practice to empower practitioners, from Early Childhood Development through Schooling, to Adult - Learning Practice.

Underlying Philosophy

  • To actively seek practical solutions to educational problems from Early Childhood Development through Schooling, to Adult-Learning Practice.
  • To contribute substantially to the achievement of 100% mother–tongue literacy in South-Africa – with a view to raising the English and Numeracy skills levels of pupils, adult learners, and employees to a level of functional literacy.
  • To contribute to effective communication in the workplace and all learning environments through the introduction, promotion and cultivation of Appropriate English and Plain English.
  • To model all training programmes to deliver a constructivist, accelerated learning approach and fully utilize the advantages of adult learning principles.

The Kaleidoprax Learning Development Model is a unique delivery method. It guarantees to  visually stimulate learning and utilize the knowledge and experience of learners using cooperative- and discovery-learning techniques.
